EWELINA STEC-DOBROCZYŃSKA – attorney at law She specialises in industrial property law and unfair competition law.
As a lawyer with over 10 years’ experience, she advises clients on comprehensive trademark protection, ensuring the security of brands on the Polish, European and international markets. She represents clients’ interests before the Polish Patent Office, Polish courts, as well as the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the General Court of the European Union.
Her day-to-day practice involves the preparation and implementation of brand protection strategies. She helps clients make informed business decisions that determine the security and future of their brands. She also supports businesses in settlement negotiations. She has unique experience in cases concerning parallel imports and demonstrates great effectiveness in conducting settlement negotiations.
Her high level of professionalism and effectiveness have been recognised by the prestigious international IP Stars ranking, which has twice awarded her the title of Rising Star.

She graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. During her legal studies, she additionally completed a two-year certified course organized by the Center for American Law of the Catholic University of Lublin (CUL), as a joint program of the Catholic University of Lublin and the Chicago - Kent Collage of Law in Chicago (IIT). From 2013 to 2015, she served her legal training at the Regional Chamber of Attorneys at Law in Lublin under the patronage of Professor Ryszard Skubisz.

- successfully objecting against dozens of registrations of numerical trade marks of a leading publisher of crossword magazines (legally invalidating dozens of such registrations)
- conducting, on behalf of the largest chain of discount stores in Poland, opposition proceedings and proceedings for invalidity of protective rights to national and EU trade marks
- conducting, on behalf of the largest discount store chain in Poland, litigation for declaration of expiration of trade mark protection rights
- conducting, on behalf of a leader in the publishing industry, dozens of cases for cancellation of trade mark protection rights, including representation at all levels of administrative and administrative court proceedings
- Conclusion of a favorable settlement ending a dispute over infringement of a reputable trade mark on behalf of a Polish drug manufacturer
- counselling to the Polish parallel importer of medicinal products on current issues connected with parallel import, including preparation of legal opinions concerning issues from the borderline of EU law, pharmaceutical law and administrative law
- successfully defending trademark oppositions to parallel import of medicinal products in dozens of cases
- Successfully challenging, on behalf of the Polish parallel importer of medicinal products, the decision of the President of the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products on the refusal to issue a parallel import license, citing the infringement of EU law
